In addition to my two beloved sons (currently in the throes of adolescence and consequently causing me generous helpings of grief), I really would have wanted a couple of daughters as well. I remember reading about the mitochondrial DNA being passed down in the female lineage only. It saddens me to think my mother and grandmother will vanish from the planet when I am gone.
