NMJ - this is for you

(She'll know exactly why. And please try to ignore the fact I failed to polish the glass first.)

You are just the sweetest gem, honey, thank you, thank you, thank you - & also thx for your recent email support - I know I have been a bit fraught with one thing and another! x

Höpsis, honey (translation on request only) - no thanking necessary, just click on the picture to enlarge and take a huge swig. And then another one. (Remember to enjoy the sunshine, too.) xx

I did click, it is exquisite, now the translation, please, is it rude? x

Sadly, no, just very difficult to translate. The root word would be the verb höpöttää, to jabber, to talk nonsense. When I tell you "höpsis", I am implying you are talking total bollocks, but in a loving gentle non-rude and wholly family-friendly fashion.

I hope this clears the issue totally, and I hereby release the word into the Scottish vernacular...x

(Oh dear. I only meant you were talking bollocks when you said thank you and that I was the sweetest. You know, just to clarify. And höpsis is really a word you can use with children, too.)

You *are* the sweetest, Anna MR. Not only for now, but I will always remember how fucking (sorry for F word, but it's needed) INTUITIVE you were when I came to Finland last summer, in a crappy phase of ME, hardly being able to walk more than a block, wondering if I would have to cancel the trip,(a mess at the airport, dragging my legs, literally), and you were SO effortlessly understanding, though it was the first time we had ever met. M.E can be very difficult to see, and yet you saw it. (But we still had fun getting tipsy on the balcony!) x

Höpsis höpö-höpö wheest and shush (but yes we did). And you're just fun, Ms Legs. I'll not forget in a hurry how I laugh-cried in horrified delight at some of the stories you just rattled off (The Tale of the Dress Present springs to mind, effortlessly). x

You are funny, yes, I do remember that particular tale. x

Oh good. That means I haven't imagined it - I'd be quite concerned (for myself) if I had. x

Why, you too, housut my son. I was very glad to see you too had done the surrealist thing over at your house. (Good that you enjoyed the gig as well.)
